I give piano lessons in East Belfast and I'm based near Orangefield Park. I teach lessons both in person and online (Zoom)
When?
My students usually have weekly piano lessons during term time, but I can also offer blocks of lessons during major holidays.
Who?
I work primarily with children and young people, but welcome anyone who is keen to learn.

What I teach:
During a usual half hour lesson I would make sure that we cover a number of things (you know the saying... 'variety is the spice of life')!
I like to teach using what I like to call a 'two lane approach' to learning.
Lane 1: What may be regarded as 'more traditional' piano teaching.
Sight reading
Learning set pieces from written music
Scales and arpeggios
Lane 2: A less traditional approach, but the way many people learn more naturally.
Learning pieces by ear or by chord
Improvisation
Composition
These two lists are not comprehensive, they are just to give an idea. I believe it is important to encourage both of these skill areas in order that students can become versatile musicians.
I tailor lessons to the needs of each individual and go at their pace. Meeting particular needs will vary depending on age and ability, but whoever I teach I like to encourage them to do their best and enjoy learning.
I welcome feedback from my pupils and parents so I can improve my services, and enjoy building a relationship of honesty in this way. I believe it makes for an enjoyable and pleasant experience.
Most of all I like my lessons to be engaging. I think this is more important than simply being 'fun' (although that is good too), but for my pupils to be inspired by what they are able to achieve and to enjoy doing it!
